Verification of Competence Courses

Verification of Competence (VOC) is an industry standard method used to validate competency requirements of industry personnel.VOC is not Training and Assessment it is a process where skills and knowledge are evaluated against a prescribed performance criteria.

The intent of VOC is to demonstrate that a person can perform the required performance standards as well as demonstrating required underpinning knowledge of the subject in accordance with client requirements.

Performance Standards may mean some or all of the following;

• Perform process/duty/ function
• Operate plant / equipment/ machinery
• Maintain/ plant equipment /machinery

The VOC process is undertaken by a participant undertaking a competence assessment involving theory and practical components. Competency can only be assessed by an approved assessor with relevant industry experience and training qualifications.
